Candid stories of
a crooked life.

For anyone brave enough to look at themselves honestly.

The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable.

About the Candid Crook

I'm Amanda — a writer and photographer based in Lincoln, Nebraska. At eighteen, I boarded a bus for a stranger's job offer and spent nearly three years on a traveling sales crew before finding my way out. What followed was years of untangling complex trauma, coercive relationships, and the uncomfortable truth that I hadn't yet learned to trust myself.

I've been obsessed with human deception — in others and in myself — ever since. The Candid Crook is where I work that out loud.
